Winners will be selected by a special panel of style judges and the presentations will be made to the three winners in the Winners' Enclosure just before the first race.

Our chosen charity for Ladies Day 2010 is Cancer Research UK. /library/images/racing/the_festival/blue_cruklogo.gif

Cancer Research UK is the world's leading charity dedicated to beating cancer through research.

Their groundbreaking work into the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of cancer has saved millions of lives. Survival rates have doubled in the last thirty years and CRUK has been at the heart of that progress. One in three people will get cancer at some point and CRUK's vital work, funded entirely by the public through donations, driven by events such as Ladies Day, will help ensure that millions more people will survive.

How to enter the Fashion Awards

Entries for the Fashion Awards must be made in person on Ladies Day, Thursday March 18. Simply head to the Fashion Area near the Octagon, situated between the Parade Ring and the Main Grandstand and look for the Pink Parasol! Contact victoria@montpelliergroup.com for more information. Entrants must be aged 18 or over.

Outstanding Contribution Award

Each year, as part of Ladies Day, we recognise the impact that ladies have had and continue to have on the sport of Jump racing. The focal point for this is the presentation of the award for 'The Outstanding Contribution Made by a Lady to Jump Racing' . In previous years this has been won by Heather Atkinson, from Cheltenham's Jockeys Hospital, by Chicky Oaksey from the Injured Jockeys Fund, by Ann Saunders from the Jockeys Association and, in 2009, by Nina Carberry, top female jump jockey. A short list of six is drawn up from nominations made by members of the public and a panel of female racing experts selects a winner.

Ladies Day Ambassador

Georgie Browne, partner of Champion Trainer Paul Nicholls, is the Official Ambassador for Ladies Day 2010. Georgie was formerly a trainer herself and now is work rider for dual Champion Chaser Master Minded. Georgie will be involved in a number of promotional and media events in the run-up to the day, working closely with the racecourse to encourage more women to attend Ladies Day. She will also be helping the fundraising drive for Cancer Research UK, the Ladies Day Charity this year./library/images/racing/the_festival/alpha_blade.jpg

Georgie said: "I am thrilled to take on this role. As someone who lives for Jump racing, I want to encourage more women to attend The Festival and se for themselves how thrilling a day at the races can be. The atmosphere at The Festival is truly unique and I look forward to being closely involved with Ladies Day this season."

Ladies' Charity Flat Race

Another exciting addition to this year's Ladies Day is a Ladies-only charity flat race. The race will be run after the six sceduled races have been completed and will raise money for Cancer Research UK. Georgie Browne, our Ladies Day Ambassador, will be one of the 12 riders taking part.
